Geotech Introduces Airborne Geophysical Technologies to Kazakhstan

Geotech and Kazeology have formed the joint venture KazGeotech that will establish a Centre of Excellence for airborne geophysical surveys in Kazakhstan. This Centre of Excellence will have a regional focus that encourages surrounding nations to look at Kazakhstan’s exploration requirements as a means to ensure success of new mining discoveries.

The joint company was made upon President Nazarbaev’s call to reanimate geological investigations using modern technologies while making Kazakhstan an attractive country for investments in the mining sector. As a result of this call to action, Geotech was soon presented to Kazakhstan’s government, Prime Minister and President during the June 2, 2014 meeting in Astana as a reliable company that possesses the technology and resources to achieve the Vice Minister’s goal.

During Central Asia’s Minex conference in Astana, Kazakhstan March 31, 2014  – April 2, 2014 Geotech and Kazakhstan’s Kazeology met with to discuss the country’s exclusive use of Geotech’s airborne geophysical survey technologies.

This regional partnership has allowed for Geotech to bring technologies such as the VTEM™ and ZTEM™ systems to Kazakhstan, which will result in an increase of future working opportunities within Central Asia. Survey offerings were increased by importing a Cessna Caravan into Kazakhstan so that fixed wing magnetics, radiometrics and gravity surveys were also made available.

KazGeotech has already begun flying with the industry leading VTEM™ system in Kazakhstan, and a Geotech Aviation Caravan has begun flying fixed wing magnetics, radiometrics and gravity surveys. It is expected that the ZTEM™ system will soon mobilize to the country in 2015.

With this joint venture in progress, Geotech eagerly awaits the continued exploration of Kazakhstan’s uncharted survey areas for the country’s large land mass presents exciting opportunities for airborne geophysical discoveries.
