Toronto, Ontario – September 24, 2014 – Purepoint Uranium Group Inc. (TSX:PTU.V) announced today that in anticipation of this winter’s drill program, the next stage of exploration at the Hook Lake JV project will focus on an extensive magnetic low located within the Patterson Conductive Corridor. This fall, airborne and ground electromagnetic (EM) surveys will be completed to better define EM conductors located within the magnetic low target area, most notably the D2 conductor that is associated with the Spitfire uranium discovery (Purepoint press release dated March 10th, 2014).
The prospective, large-scale magnetic low area sits within the Patterson Corridor, the same structural and conductive trend that hosts the neighbouring PLS and Arrow uranium discoveries. The magnetic low is deemed a priority exploration target area as:
- Fission Uranium Corp.’s high-grade PLS deposit also lies within an area of low magnetic response;
- It hosts weak, discontinuous EM conductors that are suggestive of structural disturbance and/or hydrothermal alteration
- Uranium mineralization (Spitfire zone) has been discovered on its southern edge; and
- EM conductors within this expansive target area have only been tested by a few initial drill holes
