The drilling was intended to follow up on positive surface sampling, which was carried out in April 2016 and confirmed the presence of lithium in alluvial gravels and clays. The maximum values for lithium in sediments from the surface program was 81 ppm, with an average of 46 ppm (see NR of June 8th, 2016).
A total of 7 holes were completed, generating 22 intersections of interest. All holes encountered brown clays as well as silty brown sands and grey fine- to coarse-grained sand intervals. In addition, two water samples were collected where the water table was encountered within each drillhole as well as selective sampling of salt at surface. Samples have been submitted for laboratory analysis, specifically targeting methods appropriate for detecting lithium, boron and potassium concentration in samples.
The samples have been shipped to WETLAB Western Environmental Testing Laboratory in Sparks, Nevada, an EPA accredited independent laboratory. Samples are to be analyzed for lithium, potassium, boron, and magnesium using Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater, Online Edition, Methods for Determination of Organic Compounds in Drinking Water, EPA–600/4–79–020, and Test Methods for Evaluation of Solid Waste, Physical/Chemical Methods (SW846), Third Edition. Laboratory will use its own quality control and quality assurance protocols for sample analysis.
Carter Lake Uranium Project
In addition, the Company has terminated its option for the Gulch Mine Uranium Project, so as to focus on the Carter Lake Uranium Project. Carter Lake is located in an exploration corridor located adjacent to the corridor that hosts the prolific PLS (Fission’s Patterson Lake South Deposit) and Arrow discoveries (Nexgen’s Arrow Prospect).
Learn how the principal exploration target at Carter Lake was identified using VTEM technology.
Regarding the completion of the drill program, CEO Ian Graham commented, “The Company is very pleased to have completed this important phase of exploration, which will guide our subsequent endeavors at Miller’s Crossing, including, if warranted, RC drilling and pump testing.” Read the press release here.
