Botswana Metals (ASX:BML) recently raised funds and is now ready to explore its wholly-owned prospecting license PL 59/2008 in Botswana.
BML will use SQUID EM technology starts on three priority VTEM targets at Mashambe (one anomaly) and Maibele North Extension (two anomalies).
The SQUID and VTEM data will be used to fast tack anomalies to a drill ready status for immediate drilling.
In minerals exploration, the SQUID EM technique is used to accurately detect very deep conductors potentially associated with sulphide accumulations.
The targets are seen to be attractive as they lie along strike from Maibele North on a geological horizon that is interpreted to be a preferential host to nickel – copper mineralisation in the district.

VTEMmax survey has identified an untested potential northern extension of the zone which was obscured from historical airborne surveys by a powerline crossing the northern part of the property
The correlation of the preliminary ZTEM and seismic data is very encouraging at Esso West and this combination of surveys will aid in drill targeting.
A 12,000-meter to 14,000-meter diamond-drill program is being planned to test for the feeder zones for the near-surface epithermal gold mineralization and the porphyry system at depth using the three-dimensional geophysics interpretation of the BAM Project.
